Lactalis proves
Delta Instruments’ FTIR to be the best choice in
trial
Lactalis has tested the FT2 and the
MSC FT120 from Foss up against the Lactoscope FTIR
Advanced (FTA) from Delta Instruments in their
factory in Walhorn, Belgium.
The results of the Delta FTA and the
Foss FT2 were very close in liquid milk products,
and both better than the Foss MSC FT120, which has
already served the dairy industry for over 15 years
since it was designed. However, it seems that both
the FT120 and the Delta FTA are better than the Foss
FT2 when the total solid content increases.
During the trials on cream and
skimmed milk concentrate the Foss FT2 unfortunately
stopped working, so only test results from the MSC
FT120 and the FTA from Delta Instruments could be
retrieved.
The Lactoscope FTIR Advanced from
Delta Instruments can be purchased for a lower
investment than the other instruments. Also, Campina
in Germany is willing to be quoted for saying, that
it is one of the most stable instruments they have
tested, and it is much less expensive in running
costs because the reagents for cleaning and
zero-setting are commodities and no FTIR equalizer
is needed.
When considering all this, the
conclusion is even more clear:
